Biographical SketchGisela Hürlimann, lic. phil., is a Ph.D. student at Research Centre for Social and Economic History of the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She studied general history, social and economic history as well as Spanish literature at the University of Zurich, carried out a research project for the history of psychiatry funded by the Zurich Health Department and collaborated in an innovative archival online-project at the Swiss Federal Archives in Berne. Her Ph.D. addresses the decision making, development and implementation of technological innovation at the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) from the late 1960s to 2000 in the context of European traffic and infrastructural policy. Gisela Hürlimann is also member of the International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (T2M) and attended the 1st international Conference of T2M at Eindhoven in November 2003.
