Biographical Sketch

Liesbeth Bervoets received her PhD from the University of Wageningen and is now Associate Professor Management and Public Policy Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She is interested in the practices of governance and technology. As a member of the editorial board of the Dutch History of Technology Project her work focussed on technology and gender issues: The modernisation of house building 1890-1970. An unusual pattern of technological innovation(2003),‘Housing inspection and the improvement of the urban environment (2002), Genderscripts. The influence of designers and users in the construction process. A research program (1998). She was editor of the Journal of Gender Studies several years.
