Biographical Sketch

Cornelis Disco is assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Twente. His background is in sociology but in recent years he has become increasingly involved in the history of technology. He was editor of the Water Management cluster (1998) in the Technology in the Netherlands (TIN) 20th century project and edited the Urban Technologies cluster for the same project (2003). Recent publications include an article on "innovation junctions" (with Adrienne van den Bogaard) for Technikgeschichte (2001) and an article in Science, Technology and Human Values called "Remaking Nature. The ecological turn in Dutch water management" (2002). He also published an article in Technology and Culture (with Jan van den Ende) on the development of tidal modeling in the Netherlands in the 20th century (2003).
